The mostly Anglophone Economic Community of West African States, also known as ECOWAS (Portuguese: Comunidade Económica dos Estados da África Ocidental, CEDEAO), was established on 28 May 1975, with the signing of the 1975 Treaty of Lagos (So they actually did it! map game). It's members are Nigeria, Abizonia (ex-cied of Cameroon in 1975), Guinea Bissau, Gambia, Serra Leone, Ghana and Liberia. It had a famine relief bureau and free trade zone in 1975, a malaria relief bureau in 1980, a common market and peacekeeping corps in 1986, a customs union in 1987, an intergovernmental investment banking systen in 1990 and a common currency in 1992.
