The Grand Duchy of Flaadland was a self-proclaimed domain which replaced the Colony of Flaadland. Created during the tumultuous years of the Glorious Revolution, its creation was recognized neither by James II nor William of Orange in 1688, and James would in fact launched a joint effort withthe Frenches to reassert control of Flaadland in 1689. The Grand Duchy was the idea of the Flaadlander scholar Malcolm Bexley, who wanted more autonomies for Flaadland.
