Greece A magnitude 6.4 earthquake struck Greece, on March 12 at a depth of 36.2 km (22.5 mi).

Greece A magnitude 5.5 earthquake struck Greece 12 km (7.5 mi) north northwest of Rodotopion, Epirus on April 15 at a depth of 22.0 km (13.7 mi). The shock had a maximum intensity of IV (Light). The quake damaged some buildings in villages near Ioannina.
Greece A magnitude 6.1 earthquake struck the Dodecanese Islands, Greece, that occurred on April 1.

Italy[]

Italy A magnitude 5.5 earthquake struck Italy 8 km (5.0 mi) east southeast of Sellano on April 26 at a depth of 10.0 km (6.2 mi). The shock had a maximum intensity of VI (Strong). Several buildings collapsed. Two people were injured. This was a foreshock of the 6.6 quake.
Italy A magnitude 6.1 earthquake struck Italy 3 km (1.9 mi) north northwest of Visso on April 26 at a depth of 10.0 km (6.2 mi). The shock had a maximum intensity of IX (Violent). One person died of a heart attack during this earthquake and 8 others were injured when various houses collapsed in the region of Marche. This was a foreshock of the 6.6 quake.
Italy A magnitude 6.6 earthquake struck Italy 7 km (4.3 mi) north of Norcia on April 30 at a depth of 8.0 km (5.0 mi). The shock had a maximum intensity of IX (Violent). The villages of Arquata del Tronto, Visso, Castelsantangelo sul Nera, Ussita, as well as the Basilica of Saint Benedict in Norcia, were destroyed. Two people died of heart attacks during this earthquake and 20 others were injured.

A magnitude 6.6 earthquake struck the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, near the Azores; on March 24 at a depth of 10.0 km (6.2 mi).

Bulgaria[]

Bulgaria A magnitude 5.6 earthquake struck 24 km west of Bulgaria's capital Sofia on May 22, at a depth of 9.4 km. A woman who suffered a heart attack was the only indirect fatality.

Romania[]

Romania A magnitude 5.6 earthquake struck Romania 8 km (5.0 mi) west northwest of Nereju on April 23 at a depth of 92.0 km (57.2 mi). The shock had a maximum intensity of V (Moderate). Two people were injured.
Romania A magnitude 5.7 earthquake struck Romania 5 km (3.1 mi) from Mărășești on April 22 at a depth of 39.0 km (24.2 mi). The earthquake injured 9 people.

Macedonia[]

Republic of Macedonia A magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck Macedonia 4 km (2.5 mi) east northeast of Skopje on April 11 at a depth of 12.9 km (8.0 mi). The shock had a maximum intensity of VII (Very strong). The quake caused minor damage to buildings and 30 people were injured while leaving their homes in a panic.

French Southern and Antarctic Lands A magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck offshore of France's Southern and Antarctic Lands 102 km (63 mi) north northeast of Amsterdam Island on March 23 at a depth of 10.0 km (6.2 mi).
France A magnitude 6.6 earthquake struck 602 km (374 mi) east of the French Pacific minor territory of Clipperton Island on April 29 at a depth of 10.0 km (6.2 mi). The shock had a maximum intensity of I (Not felt).
France A magnitude 6.4 earthquake struck the Île Amsterdam, on May 4 at a depth of 10.0 km (6.2 mi).

Bosnia and Herzegovina[]

Bosnia and Herzegovina A magnitude 3.9 earthquake struck 5 km (3.1 mi) north of Velagici, Bosnia and Herzegovina on April 25 at a depth of 23.4 km (14.5 mi). It was the largest in a series of earthquakes, and caused damage to houses and a school in Velagici.

Azerbaijan A magnitude 5.0 earthquake struck Azerbaijan 12 km (7.5 mi) northwest of Imishli on April 1 at a depth of 16.0 km (9.9 mi). The shock had a maximum intensity of V (Moderate). One man died of a heart attack in Parsabad, in the far northwest of Iran.

Tajikistan A magnitude 7.2 earthquake struck Tajikistan 106 km (66 mi) west of Murghab on March 7 at a depth of 33.0 km (20.5 mi). One truck driver and a policeman were killed while dozens more were injured and 500 homes destroyed. The earthquake was also felt in Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Kazakhstan and India.
Tajikistan A magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck Northern Tajikistan on April 4, leaving 20,000 homeless.

Bhutan A magnitude 6.1 earthquake struck Bhutan on September 21, killing 11 people.

Myanmar[]

Myanmar A magnitude 6.1 earthquake struck Naypyidaw on September 23, killing 12 people.

Pakistan[]

Pakistan A magnitude 5.4 earthquake struck Pakistan 42 km (26 mi) north northwest of Athmuqam on October 1 at a depth of 10.0 km (6.2 mi). The shock had a maximum intensity of V (Moderate) on April 5. Two people died and thirty others were injured.
Pakistan A magnitude 4.6 earthquake struck Pakistan 11 km (6.8 mi) north of Sann on April 22 at a depth of 10.0 km (6.2 mi). The shock killed one person and left nine others injured in Hyderabad.

Nepal[]

Nepal A magnitude 5.2 earthquake struck Nepal 19 km (12 mi) north of Kathmandu on March 5 at a depth of 23.5 km (14.6 mi). The shock had a maximum intensity of V (Moderate). 66 people were injured in Nepal during this earthquake, while one person died of a heart attack in Muzaffarpur, India.
Nepal A magnitude 4.1 earthquake struck Nepal 4 km (2.5 mi) south southwest of Patan on April 9 at a depth of 10.2 km (6.3 mi). At least three people were injured.

Afghanistan[]

Afghanistan A magnitude 6.3 earthquake struck Afghanistan 41 km (25 mi) west southwest of Ashkasham in Badakhshan province on March 25 at a depth of 203.4 km (126.4 mi). 12 people were hospitalized in Nangarhar province, including some university students in Jalalabad, who were injured in a stampede while students trying to escape a building. Four people were killed in Pakistan. At least 100 people were injured. The quake was also strongly felt in Tajikistan and India.
Afghanistan A magnitude 6.6 earthquake struck Afghanistan 42 km (26 mi) west southwest of Ashkasham, Badakhshan Province on April 10 at a depth of 212.0 km (131.7 mi). The shock had a maximum intensity of IV (Light). Six people were killed and forty-six injured in Pakistan.
Afghanistan A magnitude 5.6 earthquake struck Central Afghanistan on April 18, killing 11 people.

Taiwan A magnitude 6.2 earthquake struck Taiwan, on March 2 at a depth of 20.0 km (12.4 mi), killing 4 people including a mountain climber by falling rocks.
Taiwan A magnitude 6.4 earthquake struck Taiwan 25 km (16 mi) southeast of the Yujing district of Tainan City on March 6 at a depth of 23.0 km (14.3 mi). The shock had a maximum intensity of VII (Very strong). Numerous buildings, including a residential tower, collapsed in Yongkang district. 117 people were killed and 550 were injured.
Taiwan A magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck Taiwan on March 27 at a depth of 20.7 km (12.9 mi), killing one person.

China A magnitude 5.9 earthquake struck southeastern Gansu, on March 21 at a depth of 9.8 km (6.1 mi). At least 95 people were killed and more than 1,000 others injured, with more than 9,000 houses collapsing.
China A magnitude 5.8 earthquake struck Yunnan, China, on March 31 at a depth of 9.8 km, killing 5 people.
China A magnitude 6.4 earthquake struck China 97 km (60 mi) southeast of Yilkiqi, Hotan Prefecture, Xinjiang on July 3 at a depth of 20.0 km (12.4 mi). Three people were killed, 71 were injured and about 3,000 homes destroyed or damaged.
China A magnitude 6.9 earthquake struck Yushu, China on April 13, killing 2,968 people.

China A magnitude 5.2 earthquake struck China 66 km (41 mi) northwest of Gyamotang, Tibet Autonomous Region on May 11 at a depth of 8.0 km (5.0 mi). The shock had a maximum intensity of V (Moderate). Sixty people were reported injured, six seriously; with collapsed houses and bridges and roads damaged due to landslides.
China A magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck Eastern Sichuan, China on April 30, killing one person.
