The following is the tiers list for the New World map game.

Tier 0.5[]

Tier 0.5 is a special level of development. Tier 0.5 may be reached in any category, but is exceptionally difficult to achieve. Only the head moderator (TheTimMan) is allowed to propose elevation of nations to Tier 0.5 in any circumstance; this must meet the approval of at least one other mods before going ahead. No one may request upgrades to Tier 0.5.

Should a nation reach Tier 0.5 in technology and at least one other category, that nation will be allowed to colonise extraterrestrial colonies within the Novasol system.

Military[]

Explanation[]

  • Tier 1 is the top level of military development. Tier 1 militaries are the most modern possible. It is possible for Tier 1 militaries to be moved down in the event of their failure to keep up with advancing technologies.
  • Tier 2 is the next highest level of military development. Tier 2 militaries are fairly modern for the current time and are also quite large in comparison with others around the world, but are still behind Tier 1. Tier 2 militaries and higher may possess nuclear weapons
  • Tier 3 is a moderate level of military development. Tier 3 militaries are not as modernised as their Tier 2 and Tier 1 counterparts. Tier 3 militaries can also be of medium size, and still would be able to effectively defend their country in the event of attack. For the purposes of war algorithm calculation, rebel armies fighting in civil wars are by default Tier 3.
  • Tier 4 is the lowest level of military development. Tier 4 militaries are far behind their higher-level rivals in terms of technology and/or size. Tier 4 militaries probably would not have much tactical advantage in a war, and it is highly recommended that nations possessing Tier 4 militaries invest in improving them.
  • Tier 5 A rag-tag under armed and poorly militia of little, if any use.

It is possible for a military to stand in between tiers, such as Tier 1.5 and so on.

Infrastructure[]

Explanation[]

  • Tier 1 is the top level of infrastructural development. Tier 1 infrastructures are very highly developed. Nations with Tier 1 infrastructures have many roads, rail lines and other elements that contribute to the nation's overall efficiency and wellbeing. In the event of an attack, nations with Tier 1 infrastructures are more likely to survive, and will be able to rebuild very quickly afterward.
  • Tier 2 is the next highest level of infrastructural development. Tier 2 infrastructures are well-developed. Nations with Tier 2 infrastructures have many roads, rail lines and other elements that contribute to the nation's overall efficiency and wellbeing. In the event of an attack or invasion, nations with Tier 2 infrastructures are likely to survive, and will be able to rebuild quickly afterward.
  • Tier 3 is a moderate level of infrastructural development. Tier 3 infrastructures are moderately developed. Nations with Tier 3 infrastructures have quite a few roads, rail lines and other elements that contribute to the nation's overall efficiency and wellbeing. In the event of an attack or invasion, nations with Tier 3 infrastructures have a high chance or survival, and will be able to rebuild afterward, but at a slower pace than Tier 1 and Tier 2 nations.
  • Tier 4 is the lowest level of infrastructural development. Tier 4 infrastructures are poorly developed. Nations that have recently been attacked may find themselves being at Tier 4. Nations with Tier 4 infrastructures have few operable roads, rail lines or other elements that would have contributed to the nation's overall efficiency and wellbeing. In the event of an attack or invasion, nations with Tier 4 infrastructures are unlikely to survive, and those who subsequently dominate it will find it difficult to rebuild afterwards. It is highly recommended that players of nations possessing Tier 4 infrastructures improve their infrastructure as soon as possible.
  • Tier 5 Totally undeveloped beyond a few dirt tracks, foot paths and small jetties.
