Oman is a oil rich a nation on the Arabian Peninsula. The empty Wahiba Sands is a region of dunes inhabited by Bedouins. The major port of Muscat, is the capital and home to the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, and the old waterfront Muttrah quarter, with a labyrinthine souk and busy fish market. Fishing, tourism and the coastal farming and figs and dates is also a major economic activity.
