Panama is a nation in North America.


Panama is divided into ten provinces with their respective local authorities (governors), which are divided into districts and corregimientos (townships) and has a total of ten cities. Also, there are five Comarcas (literally: "Shires") populated by a variety of indigenous groups.

Panama is a Republic. The term length for the President and Vice President is five years, which is non-renewable. Elections take place in May on the fifth year, and the newly elected President and Vice President goes into power in July within the same year.
