Princess Elisabeth, Duchess of Hoffmann is the youngest daughter of Kaiser Heinrich III and Queen Victoria. At birth, she was third in line to succeed to the throne of Neubayern, after her her eldest brother, Crown Prince Georg and elder sister Crown Princess Helena. After Georg's death, she was elevated to second in line. She was later displaced back to third, and then to fourth, in line after the birth of the Crown Princess' children Aria and Nikolai.
In 1004, at the age of 17, Elisabeth was created Duchess of Hoffmann after the death of her predecessor Victoria I.
In 1012, the Duchess was the source of a controversy due to her decision to adopt a child, Natsuo Toyama, from North Orientalia. However, a proposal for yet another change to the Imperial Laws of Succession to allow adopted children to succeed to the throne was been presented to Reichsparlament. A subsequent referendum resulted in the allowance of adopted children to enter the Line of Succession.
